Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in the small yet diverse Lake Manyara National Park. The lodge is located in the remote southwestern region of the Lake Manyara, allowing leisurely tracking of the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, and for unimpeded viewing of the flocks of pelicans, flamingos and buffalo cooling in the soda lake. It covers two thirds of the park, while the rest of the ecosystem consists of steep mountainside, swamps, open grassy areas and hot springs.

Accommodation

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge offers 10 tree houses which have been built on stilts, in the boughs of ancient mahogany trees, discreetly tucked away in the forest. The tree house have been crafted from local timber and makuti (palm fronds) and feature large open decks and spacious rooms with large windows to invite the flourishing forest into the luxurious elegance of each room. The interiors of Lake Manyara Tree Lodge tree houses are a sumptuous combination of natural fibers, pure cotton linen and contemporary furnishings. The bedroom consists of four poster bed-like drapings  and earthly, understated accessories in natural colors and textures. Overhead fans an d mosquito nets as well as en suite bathrooms with baths and large twin hand basins ensure that every comfort is attended to. There is an exhilarating outdoor shower while the private verandas have comfortable furniture and offer extensive views of the lovely forest environment.

Dinning & Cuisine

Meals at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge are enjoyed in the open-air boma, the dinning area, on the decks in the guest area or on the guests’ private viewing decks. Breakfasts and picnics are also served on the lake shore. Guests have the opportunity to interact with the staff in the kitchen in preparation of delicious Pan-African Cuisine.
