This is a challenging and very rewarding hike that will bring you to these amazing and mythical Mongyoni Waterfall. You will be guided by a knowledgeable native who will explain a lot during the trek which will pass through small Chagga villages.

Have lunch which will be carried in picnic lunch boxes later proceeding on. You will descend down the valley of the Mongyoni River as you listen to the fabulous myths and interesting stories relating to the falls told by your guides.

This magnificent area will have you explore the natural beauty of the forest and the breathtaking river. On a good day you might be lucky to spot the shy Colobus Monkeys. You will continue trekking along the river upto the Mongyoni Waterfall. On a clear day you have the opportunity to view the entire town of Moshi. This entire hike will take approximately 6-7hours.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Duration: 3 Days/ 2 Nights

Day 1: Mongyoni
Depart for Mongyoni and upon arrival you will be met and given an orientation or briefing by the local guide. Start coffee tour with the native guide. Later returning to Kahawa shamba Camp Site for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mongyoni
After Breakfast with picnic lunch boxes start trekking to Mongyoni Water Falls. You will cross three breathtaking rivers have lunch, hike up to the falls, experience true African Adventure in the wild before returning to your campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chagga Village
After Breakfast go for a Chagga history hike where you will practically experience and see historical caves, huts and routes. Returning for some delicious African cuisine. The afternoon is left out for either relaxation or self onward program.

OR

Day 3: Mt. Kilimanjaro
After an early morning breakfast depart for a nature excursion to the border of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s protected forest. (Almost 2000km above sea level) returning to your campsite at 11am for early hot lunch and transfer for self onward program.
