At 5,895m, Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, so it can truly be regarded as the roof of Africa. “As wide as all the world, great, high and unbelievably white,” was Ernest Hemingway’s description.

The Ngorongoro Crater and conservation Area boasts the finest blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and acheological sites in Africa. Often called an ‘African Eden’ and the ‘eigth wonder of the natural world’, it is also a pioneering experiement in multiple land use.

Tucked below the majesty of Rift Valley wall, Lake Manyara National Park consists of a thin green band of forest, flanked by the sheer 600m high red and brown cliffs of the escarpment on one side and by the white hot shores of an ancient soda lake on the other.

Earmarked to become the next National Park, this game reserve contains 90% of all botanic species found in Tanzania with one third classified as unique in the world.
